Are there any government programs that help parents with day care discounts?

An uncle of mine pays about $500 a month for child care and his job is on/off. Are there any government programs that could assist him with the costs?

    A lot of states run programs that subsidize child care costs. Have him check his state’s website.

    Day care is a luxury, not a necessity, and if he can’t afford it, he can’t afford it.

    DHS has a program but it’s usually restricted to single parents and full time students. he could check on it but more than likely he’s not going to qualify. They will tell him to get a job that is steady.
