Jan 27th, 2011 | By admin | Category: Finding a Job in Day Carei work at a day care. a lead teacher in the 2 year old class. today i got my first written warning been there for 7 months. i got a warning because i sent a note home with a child. yes they are 2 years old. i sent a note home because she threw her lunch in the floor screaming and jumping in it because i wouldnt give her a 3rd cup of milk. the reason behind why i wouldnt was she hadnt eaten a thing. here i am getting written up because my boss thought the note wasnt necassary. mind you it was a good note. in concern for her not eating. not her behavior. there 2 it happens. we have like 20 teachers and i find out today after being written up there is a teacher pinching children for dicsipline and teachers telling there children to shut up and then there are teachers actually popping there children. without being written up. im just finding this out i did call the state dfac and i put in my 2 week notice. does this seem fair to anyone? what are some suggestions on how to deal with all thi
as well kids being left outside and teachers not being aware. i generally stay to myself. my director isnt the best boss. she does nothing. i have kidney stones and if i call to go to the restroom it takes 30 minutes then i have a flare up and miss work? among other things. im just annoyed with the whole situation and surprised i was blind at all until i actually stood up for myself and found out what was really going on! how do i proceed with this. my child actually attends there in a pre-k class. seperate situation though. public christian day care state funded pre-k. there hired by the state. his teachers are the best. he does great there. i would like him to attend still. whats the best measures of dealing??
You should have stood your ground and stayed
working there
IF you get fired- you can collect unemployement
Maybe your boss just doesn’t like you. But that doesn’t matter. I would hate my boss too if he/she was like that.
Change the job.
I am a pre school teacher. I see the same sort of things you were talking about. Seems like if you aren’t part of the “click” then you are shunned at work. But you shouldn’t have given notice. I don’t think you should have sent a note home. You could have talked to the parent of the child voicing your concerns about her eating habits.I got written up once because my boss didn’t think I was friendly enough to the parents. So I guess my answer would be…ask your boss what you should do about a picky eater and see what her response is.
