Ok, the con’s are: Longer weight periods, less choice, higher taxes etc
The pros’s are: Everyone would have health care, no one left behind, and yes once again, everyone would have health care.

To give an example, the other day I met a homeless person, he is 35, looks 40. He does not do drugs, he just cannot hold down a job due to his illness and needs help. He explains to me that no doctor will touch him. He is asked the same question over and over, “Do you have Insurance” When he tells them, no I do not, they turn him away. He said he was told 1.5 years ago that he has cancer and surgery them Kemo would be the treatment. I have asked similar questions in the past and some of the answers went like this. We do not need it because of higher taxes, why should I pay for it, Longer wait times, it wont work etc. One, how can you tell people that has no coverage, and no health care service now, they dont need it cause of longer wait times. I say this is an outrage. How can this be. Is there
Is there anyone out there that can tell me a better idea. I am not saying that the doctors work for the government, I am saying a Universal Health Care INSURANCE like Blue Cross & Blue Shield, you know like congress and the senate has, the one where they cover their whole family for about 155.00 a month! That could be expanded to cover the Nation. Some argue Most Americans already have Insurance, that is a lie, not true. The majarity of
Americans do not have health Insurance and live pay check to paycheck, and live one paycheck from poverty. This country gives millions of dollars to other countries for health care and medications, for wars, for the re-building of their country after we fight them, in the BILLIONS!!!!!! I want someone to tell me
why we can feed the world, give free health care to foreign countries and free health care to the people that are not supposed to be here. are here in the USA, but everyone says HELL NO when we talk about a Universal
health care insurance!!!!
If a Universal Health care Insurance will nit fix the health care crisis, then what will. Please, no bull shit responses, we should be able to have a debate without all the name calling crap. I already know you don’t want long waits in line, and you don’t want to pay higher taxes, that is self centered, I want to know how do we fix the health care crises so that all have health care, not just a few, everyone. If we can take care of the world, we should be able to take care of our own. How can you justify sending Millions to other countries for aid in their health care when we got people here sent home to die because they do not have health care? I do not mind admitting I do not have Insurance, I have to see a doctors once a month, and I pay in advance when I go. I have herd them tell people, you do not have the money, come back when you do. That is just wrong. What happen to the oath they took on saving lifes? Is there any argument other then I don’t want to pay or long wait times?
this_takes_awhile, I think that is a fair question. One thing that would be in it for you is you would have the good feeling for bringing humanity one step closer to being and living in a better society.
I know you have a heart, would it not make you feel better to know, In my country everyone has better care. Should we not aid our own people before we give health care to other country’s? Lets bring some of that monies home where it belongs, then if we can send some to other countries. There are some millions we send to other countries we have to do for exp, we send so many millions to Russia every year for their science programs, why do we need to, these scientists developed the Russian Bug, we want them to have money, not a reason to sell it, but other then programs like that, we need to aid our on people in health care…
wmcritter, that is not what anyone is attempting to do! You seem to dismiss the fact that only about 30% of the country has good health care, also, you dismiss the people in the millions that are sent home now to die! Why are most people only in this for themselves, what ever happened to humanity, or is that a libral word now too?
Inquiry, it seems that the only argument to Universal health insurance is they do not want to pay for the indigents health care, they are only concerned with their own, and they are afraid their choices will be affected and long wait times.
This is not true bty, there will be private clinics
for the wealthy as there is now. 52 million Americans that cannot afford health care insurance and those are the ones working, not on health care and 30 millions Americans that are insured. I do not understand why you cannot see the flaw and the injustice there. The United States should be ashamed that we have not already fixed this crisis!!!!
I offer this thought to everyone. I believe that if your not registered to vote you have no voice. Register to vote now so that this coming election your voice can be herd. Yahoo Answers is the one of the best places to get help with research, find solutions to problems and create think tanks that can solve local, state, federal, and global problems. If you as an individual sit back and say I don’t want to be involved or I don’t want to pay taxes on anything new, that is not voicing a solution or even a thought. People in the powers to be read Q&A here on Yahoo Answers as well as other programs of this nature. If we keep trying to form ideas of solutions for problems, it can come to pass. I hope that more people will get involved and answer questions and create think tanks and help solve problems like the health care crises in the United States Today. Thanks for answering my question and I will put this question to a vote as soon as the 4 hours are up….
vote4me_rgpj, that is a great ideal

I work in the medical field, so I need to stay alert in order to provide good patient care. But taking on both jobs will leave me with only about 5 hours a day for sleep.

I would like to know if anyone has ever used, or has considered using the drug Provigil to reduce the need for sleep. If you’ve used Provigil, how long have you been taking it? Do you find it addictive? Does it keep you from sleeping when you want to sleep? Have you encountered any problems, mental or physical, from taking this drug?

Thanks in advance for sharing your advice, and your personal experiences.

With baby on the way and our current budget, my husband and I have concluded that I absolutely have to return to work because of our money situation (we live quite simplisitcally- no vacations, no luxeries, $330 morgatage for a home that is falling apart, no fancy furniture, old cars that are paid off, etc.)

We live in rural America where there are not many high paying job opportunities. My husband has a MS in Animal Science and I have a BA in elementary education. He currently commutes 2 hours a day, five days a week for a job with a feed company and I work 3/4 time teaching computers at a school that is only 30 min commute 4 days a week. What is hurting us horribly is the fuel that my husband consumes for his five day a week job, my husband’s ridiculously low salary (and my ridiculously low salary too), and student loans.

We need some ideas. I want to stay at home with baby, save on day care and make a little cash- maybe $600-800 to let us “get by.” Thanks for any suggestions

I live downstairs from this lady who is a few years older then me. Not that this matters … but she is single. Was married once.. had one son. Has an adorable grand daughter. She works part time as an aide in day care. She told me she likes her job. But.. doesn’t see her wanting to stay there forever..because her brain turns to mush.. she wants a better job and more interaction.

We were talking out side one day and I mentioned in the conversation about her day care job I was also taking some classes in child care. I told her I may or may not work in day care.. also.. but.. these are good classes to take. She told me she has the answers to the work sheets. Its a correspondence child care classes you take at your leisure.. inexpensively.. and then the state recognizes the classes.

She acted like I needed her help/answers to pass. I did it on my own and passed. I am good in school and I consider myself pretty smart. Well.. I thanked her to be polite and did not need her answers.

My air condition broke and I had to go upstairs. I thought we worked off the same unit. Well.. she lets me in.. and was nice. We again start talking about her job etc. I mentioned wanting to go to school for cosmetology or nursing. I decided on nursing. She put both down. Saying she has friends who do both. She said cosmetology there is little money in and her friend who has support from her X husband was able to open her own business .. but doesn’t do that well all the time.
Then.. she says.. nursing is really hard.. you have to study anatomy and math and sciences and all that. Granted.. these are not my strong school classes.. but… I know a few other people who was not good in these areas and both became nurses with hard work.. efforts.. and study groups in school. She tried to discourage me.

She tells me she does not need a lot of money to live off of.. yet tried.. to discourage me from being gun ho and doing this. Why?

I am pretty sure she is getting paid by he daughter in law to also watch her granddaughter.

I live with my mom who has cancer and is now stable. She knows this.

What do you think her problem is?

                           Thanks
